The NBS of UK is to release a BIM toolkit for removing the ambiguity in BIM requirements. This toolkit will be free to use and shall contain clear definitions for the information required. It emphasizes on two concepts Level Of Detail(A,B,C,D,E) and Level of Information(1,2,3,4,5) definition for over 5000 construction objects! The web based system will allow project owners to monitor their LOD and LOI status at various stages of the project. An application called Digital Plan of Work would allow uploading the model in open formats(.ifc or COBie) to the cloud for rapid analysis.
